Sending team invites to users

Bryan Miller - Integration Developer (4493531) | asked Jul 02 '08, 5:25 p.m.
Is there any other way to send invitations to join a team other than when the user is added to the team? I added users and was not prompted and now the option is greyed out.

I still need to send invitations. I can't see a good reason to very grey out the option. A user could install a new version of Eclipse or reimage their machine and wish for another invite.

Open the Project/Team Area editor and use 'Invite to Join Team...' from
the user's context menu in the Team Member section. It seems the action
is incorrectly disabled when opening the context on users within the
Team Artifacts view.

Bryan,

In the Eclipse client, you can always send invites from the process area
editor:
Open the team area or project area editor
In the Members section, select the users you wish to send the invite to
Right click>Invite to Join Team...

Thanks Kai. That worked perfectly. Oddly, some of the users didn't appear as team members in the Eclipse client even though they appear to be in the web client.

Hi, Bryan.

Are you certain that you're looking at the same team area in both the
Eclipse and web ui? It's possible to have multiple team areas with the
same name even in the same project area.

For example, on our server we have:
Jazz Project
- Jazz Development
- Process
- Jazz Maintenance
- Process

Could you have a similar situation?
