[meta] "Last Post" time broken in forum

Ulrich Eckhardt (23612223) | asked Sep 29 '11, 3:09 a.m.
Hi!

I'm getting e.g. "Wed, 14 Sep 2011 @ 421: by " as "Last Post" time in the forum. I guess the "@ 421" means that the time of day was 4:21. However, there is no way to guess whether this was in the early morning or in the afternoon, since this time seems to wrap around after twelve hours.

Is that just my browser settings or is anyone else experiencing this?

Cheers!

Uli

I'm surprised nobody's been able to answer this, because there are only "yes, I see it too" or "no, I don't see it" as possible answers...

Hi Uli,

I see it formatted as "Wed Sep 14, 2011 4:21 pm". I'm looking at the page like https://jazz.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=1

So, I can't replicate what you are seeing. Can you tell me what URL you are looking at and what browser you are using?

I'm looking at the same page and the text is broken there.

    * Browser is Firefox 7.0.1 on MS Windows XP. Firefox 6.0.2 showed the same problems on that system, I can't test any other systems easily.
    * The language settings prefer German output. Changing that to preferring US English (and restarting Firefox, just in case) didn't change anything.
    * Using MS Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702, German language settings, I get e.g. "Wed, Sep 14, 2011 4:21 by jnason". Note that there is no AM/PM, so this output is technically wrong, too, even more so since a contiguous 24-hour format is customary for the current cultural settings.
    * My timezone is GMT +1, with DST active.

I'm using IE7 on XP, with Regional Settings set to English (United Kingdom), and see all the dates formatted like e.g.
Fri, 30 Sep 2011 @ 327:
Mon, 3 Oct 2011 @ 1040:

Andrew.

I just noticed something else: This is only broken when I'm logged in! When I log out, the display changes to using a twelve-hour format, without the at-sign but also without AP/PM. This might explain the way it was displayed in MS Internet Explorer, because I sure didn't log in there.
