Delete a user or change unique user ID

Shelby Phillips (29624621) | asked Jul 01 '08, 11:22 a.m.
Previously I had created a user with the same unique username as the user has created in LDAP. I attempted to archive the local user so I could import the LDAP user, but I receive the following message:

Contributor with the same user id 'XXX' already exists.

Is there any way to delete this user or to change it's user ID?

This allows me to change the user ID, however, I am no longer able to set Repository permissions for new and previously created users:

"Notice: You are using a directory service that is not writable. User roles cannot be modified."

The group membership information is retrieved from the external user directory. We don't allow you to edit the user id (working with LDAP). The FAQ provides a mechanism to work around the problem (i.e. changing the user id). As the FAQ suggests, you need to set the user directory service back to LDAP to view the group memebership. You will NOT be edit the group membership information. You have to edit the group membership information in LDAP directory.

The steps from FAQ are listed below..

a.. Update the user id field in the LDAP user directory
b.. Go to advanced configuration page in the web UI (https://serverName:9443/jazz/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.configureAdvanced)
c.. Change the "User Registry Type" property to "UNSUPPORTED"
d.. Open the user record in the Web UI or the Eclipse UI.
e.. Since we are using Unsupported user registry, the Jazz web UI or the Eclipse UI would allow you to update the user id information
f.. Change the user id of the user to the new value
g.. Change the user directory back to "LDAP".
