RTC Client Version 3.0.1 install issues
I'd like to report a user experience in order to improved to update process of the RTC Version 3.0.1 client tool.
1) The large size of the install image (Windows image is 366 MB large) is beyond the capacity of common network connections; 2) After approximately two hours, the Jazz download site goes into a password expiry, which disrupts the active download process. It should not expire during and active HTTP download session; 3) There is no support for the IBM download manager which transfer a software images in smaller pieces, also making use of parallel file transfer acceleration and automatic recovery in case of download failure. The Firefox browser is not able to recover a large HTTP transfer after a failure. The sum of those condition creates a continuous try and fail scenario for the upgrade; 4) Trying to bypass this error condition by maintaining an active screen session, running in parallel with the download process, also switched to the IE 8 browser, which has some file transfer recovery features. |

Thanks for quick feedback and pointer to use of download manager plugins and tools. To give you feedback, the IE 8 browser was able to download the image, the .zip file (375 MB), by using the parallel web access to the Jazz site. So downloading of the install image worked OK now.
There still remains an error with the Install Manager 1.4.3. The "Install" command as it is not able to read the downloaded RTC-Client-Win-3.0.1.zip file and to configure it as a repository. Is there a specific command to start installation from a local file? Thanks in advance for your support. |

Hi Did you unzip the repository file into a temp directory. Then run the installation manager, and add your temp directory as a repository (via File->Preferences). anthony |
