RRC Accessibility

Sylvain LEQUEUX (2132728) | asked Aug 10 '11, 10:27 a.m.
Hello,

We currently have a user which has sight deficiency.
He would need more contrast in RRC Eclipse based client.

Is there a way to control these parameters like there is in several Eclipse based product with reduced palette (for example in RTC : https://jazz.net/blog/index.php/2009/06/30/accessibility-in-rational-team-concert-20/) ?
In fact, the reduced palette in even not enough as icons canot be changed or adapted.

Regards,
Sylvain Lequeux

The RRC 2.0 rich client does not have support for low vision use (when a low vision theme is selected in the Operating System, it does not fully pick up the reduced color palette in the UI).

The RRC 3.0 client does support low vision use (except in the graphical editors).

One additional bit of information -- for ANY IBM software product (for any release of an IBM software product), you can request a detailed description of how the product does (or does not in some cases) provide accessibility features (across a variety of accessibility standards).

Ask your sales representative to get you a VPAT for a product, or, you can request one yourself at http://www-03.ibm.com/able/product_accessibility/index.html.

(It's also perfectly fine to ask for this information in forums like this, particularly if you have a specific question of the kind you asked. Usually we can answer the question more quickly than reading through the lengthy accessibility reports).
