Upgrading from RTC 2.0.0.2 to IFIX06

I am planning to upgrade my RTC 2.0.0.2 server to IFIX06. I tried the documentation and could not find the answer for the following question, Please let me know the answer before I start the upgrade.

If I upgrade the server to IFIX06, will my existing RTC Client 2.0.0.1 will work or will not work after the upgrade?

I do know that after my server upgrade, I need to upgrade all of my users client to IFIX06 through Installation Manager.

Thanks in Advance.

Adding an IFIX will (should :-) never affect interoperability of client
and server. So a 2.0.0.2 client at any IFIX level should interoperate
with a 2.0.0.2 server at any other IFIX level.

Geoff

Thanks Geoff.
But my question is will my RTC 2.0.0.1 client will work with 2.0.0.2 IFIX06?

Let me rephrase: Adding an IFIX to the server will not (or at least,
should not) affect existing interoperability. So if your RTC-2.0.0.1
client works with your RTC-2.0.0.2 server, it will continue to work with
your server after you install 2.0.0.2 IFIX06 on your server.

In general, a client with a given version number should interoperate
with any server that only differs in the last digit of its version
number. The one exception I'm aware of is that a Visual Studio 2.0.0.1
client did not interoperate with a 2.0.0.0 server (which for historical
reasons, was called a 1.0.0.0 server).

Cheers,
Geoff
