Generate Release Notes document in RTC

Alan Kan (6111310) | asked Jun 08 '08, 9:21 p.m.
Since RTC contains data for a build, the change-sets that went into it, and the work items that are related to the change set, it contains most of the info that is needed for Release Notes documents. Is there any facilities (features/extensions) that automatically generate Release Notes documents from RTC?

In the 'Edit' menu, you can find an entry 'Add Build Note' that allows
to add information about the work item that should be included in the
build notes.

The build notes themselves can be generated using 'Generate Build Notes'
from the context menu of a query.

Did these 'Add Build Note' and 'Generate Build Notes' options disappear in RTC 3.0 ? - I can not find the 'Generate Build Notes' anymore by right-clicking a query ...

Can any of that be done from the command line? In 2.x?

I am looking for a way to generate a build-note (release-note) that contains my build's snapshot/change-sets.

When attempting to generate a meaningful build-note by using the suggested steps above ('Add Build Note', 'Generate Build Notes'), the resulting build-note shows nothing more than my manually-entered text (from the 'Add Build Note' step), formatted.

How do I generate a build-note, or even a query-report to show my work-item-linked change-sets?

Using v2.0.0.2iFix5.

Thx

Eclipse Edit menu is context sensitive, we found that we only get "Add Build Note" when we have a WI open and active
