Upgrading Apache Server in BF 7.1.2. currently on 2.2.3.

Our IT security has requested us to upgrade the version of appache. Our UNIX OS is AIX. Based on this technote.

I would need to have a C compiler. Question. Can I use the GCC compiler instead of XLC? would there be any incompatibilities?

I know for fact the Perl runtime is compiled with XLC.

GCC can be used since it is only being used to perform the configure on PHP
