Hi All,

we tried to share a Andorid project contained about 170,000 files with RTC, then got SocketTimeoutException error message, below is all environments we have tried, anyone got any ideas about this? BTW, this project can be imported into ClearCase successfully,

1) RTC 3.0 iFix 1, Oracle 11g DB server on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 64 bit (4G RAM), WebSphere 7.0.0.15 AP server on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 64 bit (4G RAM).
2) RTC 3.0 iFix 1, Default Installation (Derby + Tomcat) on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 64 bit (8G RAM).
3) RTC 3.0.1 RC3, Default Installation (Derby + Tomcat) RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 64 bit (8G RAM).

CRJAZ0099I When accessing the URL "https://rtctest.arimacomm.com.tw:9443/ccm/service/com.ibm.team.scm.common.IScmService" the following HTTP error occurred: "java.net.SocketTimeoutException"

Makson

Hi Guys,

i have raised an SR with IBM for this, they can reproduce the problem, but still work on it.

so anyone with the experience of successfully sharing a huge proejct with RTC? i am wondering if i did something wrong, or RTC is not capable for this kind of project?

Regards,
Makson

What's your hardware configuration RTC server is deployed to? How about the CPU usage and memory usage when you share your "huge" project? How many files in your project and what's the total size?
You may need a 64-bit machine and set the heap size according to sizing guide (https://jazz.net/library/article/551)

we tried to share a Andorid project contained about 100,800 files with RTCthe total size is 1.1GB. below is the environment we have tried.

1)RTC3.0.1.3 Oracle 11gr2 DB Server on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.4 64bit(4G*32 mem), WebSphere 7.0.0.23 AP server on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.4 64bit (4G*16 mem).

Maybe, The project has too many files, now we split them into multiple components.

Have multi components is one of the best practice. So all your files could be shared with multi components now?
Your WAS server running on a server with 64G memory, what's the heap size you assigned to your server? The default setting maybe too small for your large deployment of RTC. You can check below document to setup heap size.
