AT&T Network Client Issues

Mike Gering (613) | asked May 09 '08, 4:08 p.m.
I am forced to use the AT&T Network Client to get VPN access to our Jazz
server. When I am opening up a workspace, the file transfer stops after
a little while and causes the AT&T Network Client to disconnect! Though
I don't have this problem with other programs I use, this is surely a
problem with the AT&T Network Client software, but I'm curious to know
if others have this problem and especially if there is a solution (other
than getting rid of the AT&T Network Client).

I seem to remember problems like this (AT&T client kept disconnecting - but this was ages ago, and not related to RTC which was not around then). The fix was to update the client if I do remember correctly.

Can you use IBM Connect client instead - this seems a lot better.

I was a happy IBM Connect user before I was forced to use the AT&T
Network Client, so that is no longer an option. The version of the
client that I'm using is 6.9.0.3006, which is the latest one supported
for our use.

Take a look at

https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/29063

which has some advice in comment #2 that I'll reproduce here:

You need to make the following changes to your VPN connection setting (the changes are in bold )

1. Click on Setup
2. Choose default profile, click next
3. Click on advanced properties
4. Choose "Both internet and company's intranet"
5. In the drop down combo, choose "Managed VPN, SSL Dual Access"
6. Select the defaults for all others.

Thanks for the tip. It worked fine for one day. Now, I can't get AT&T
Network Client to work at all with the SSL Dual option. It can't find
the DNS server, the configuration server, etc. If I resolve any of this,
I'll post it.

see Large load operation messes up connection over VPN (29063), which may
solve this problem for you. (It solved it for me).
