ClearCase bridge and dynamic view
RTC 3.0
ClearCase 7.1.2 I installed SCM Adapter into the same eclipse shell as of RTC. So I got a "clearcase" menu within the RTC eclipse client. Now how do I associate a work item to a file element version using a dynamic view? Thanks! |

The easiest way is to right click on the work item and use the "set as
current work item" operation. Then every time you checkout a file in that Eclipse client, it will automatically be associated with that work item. Alternatively, go to the package explorer, right click on a file or folder, and select the Team -> Associate_Work_Items operation. You can also invoke this operation from the CC History view, to allow you to associate an arbitrary version with the work item. Cheers, Geoff On 2/15/2011 2:23 PM, theju wrote: RTC 3.0 |
Thanks for the response but the question is how to use dynamic view with the CC bridge. I don't see a dynamic view in the "ClearCase Explorer" perspective in the RTC eclipse client. The only way to use a dynamic view is to select "clearcase -> Run ClearCase explorer" menu option within RTC eclipse client. And, in the ClearCase explorer I can't associate a RTC work item to a file in ClearCase. The reason I'm looking for this feature is that it is mentioned that ClearCase bridge is supported with dynamic views in RTC 3.0.
Thanks! |

You use the normal Eclipse commands to load projects from the dynamic
view into Eclipse. In particular, use Import -> General -> Existing_Projects_Into_Workspace Then the files will appear in the Package Explorer, and the source control provider for those projects will be ClearCase. Then you can use the method I described in my original response. Cheers, Geoff On 2/17/2011 1:08 PM, theju wrote: Thanks for the response but the question is how to use dynamic view |
