Duplicate a Project Area

I'm wondering if it is possible to duplicate an entire Project Area PA1 and create a cloned Project Area PA2 with same contents, members and different names.

It is not currently possible to clone an entire Project Area, but there is an open work item for that feature. It can be found at https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/101257.

Just in case you were not aware, Process templates can be used to replicate most of the configuration for a project (i.e. roles, permissions, behaviors), although things like members will not be copied over.

Also process sharing can be used, in the Process Sharing section of the Project Area editor you can make the process of PA1 available and in PA2 you can use that process.

I believe the closest you can come (without writing custom code) is to
create a process template from your project area and then use that
process template for a new project area .. but that won't duplicate
things like membership.

Cheers,
Geoff
