How to Remove Temporary Key

Will Odamtten (61) | asked Feb 10 '11, 5:07 p.m.
I would like to know where the temporary key that ships with RAM 7.2.02 is stored as customers have to remove that (especially after it expires) to point to a license server.

Hi,

There is no need to remove it. Just put in the port@host for the license
server instead and that's it.

Thanks Rich,

I run into an issue where the correct port@host results in an error indicating the parameter is incorrect. It seems RAM 7.2.02 on a machine with FlexLM or the license server reads the license server name from what's specified in the lmhost file of the server it's on. So if RAM needs to use a license server on a remote machine this situation may arise. The remedy is to run lmutil lmhost on the remote server and make sure the port@host parameter in RAM matches that output. It's a unique use case but well worth knowing.
