installing RTC Eclipse client

john norris (20733944) | asked Feb 02 '11, 6:33 a.m.
Hi,
I have instaled RTC 3.0 server on linux and all is fine.
But when I install the client on windows 7 via installation manager, I get errors.
So, downloaded zip. Unzipped to a network drive.
Add path to prefs in IM.
Install. After a minute, get problem with com.ibm.java.win32.jdk_5.0.11.20100511b.zip
Table of contents digests differs from digest of downloaded file.
'md5' digest values do not match: vs .

Has anyone had this problem? What have I done wrong?
Regards,
John

Hi John,

I have successfully installed on the RTC Client on Windows 7. Having said that, I am not sure I downloaded the Repository or if I used the Web Install. So one option you have might be to try the web install.

Just a thought.

Like Ralph - I have also installed RTC Client on Windows7. It sounds like your download is bad. Try the web installer version or you can try and download the (larger) zip file again.

If neither work options work for you - post here again and we will help.

Hi,

one other thought, did you use a download tool for downloading? We have experienced that not using one causes issues often.

Hi,

I just bumped into that one in a different forum and hadn't thought of it....

Please make sure to not use the Windows Explorer uncompression tool. Maybe that cased the issue.

As mentioned on the download pages you can for example download and try 7Zip.

I made two changes and that then installed.
Reather than unzip on to a network drive, I unzipped locally.
I also did not select the "sametime" feature.
Then it installed properly.
