I received this error when I started my newly downloaded m5a version of RTC:

"The TeamConcert Executable launcher was unable to locat its companion
shared library"

Starting team concert with "-debug -console" did not give me any more
details and a .log file is not being generated. How do I figure out
which libraries are missing or cannot be found?

I do not know the answer to your question. But, I, too, received that error when I tried to run an install of RTC M6a that I had used previously. A re-install got rid of the error, but I still don't know the cause.
