CQ Connector: Only one external type allowed

Mark Parry (31121711) | asked Apr 29 '08, 6:03 p.m.
Hi,
I'm trying to setup the CQ Connector with the DefectTracking schema
that ships with CQ (ie. not the DefectTrackingInterop one that ships
with the connector). The gateway appears to start fine, and I can run CQ
fine as well. I was able to create an external repository connection but
when I try to create a sync rule for the Defect record in CQ, all I'm
allowed to select in the External Type field is 'attachments -
com.ibm.rational.clearquest.CQ_CONN'. Did I miss a step somewhere?

To close the loop here, I had not correctly upgraded the user database.

I opened Defect 54133 for this.

Sorry... My last post had a type-o

FYI the DB2 user database name is USERDB1 even tho the repository knows it by usrdb1.

That should have read:
The DB2 database name for the user database is: USERDB1
ClearQuest of course can't support a user database name of this length
so it knows it by the name of usrdb.

What it amounts to is this. Are you asking for the db2 database name in
that config or the name by which clear quest knows about the db2 database?

You use a NTTP Client like thunderbird as opposed to the web browser.
Would this be easier if I just opened a defect as it supports screen shots?

You keep mentioning screen shots, how do I view your screenshots? I'm

I did modify the cqconnect.properties file previously. Below are the
current values (password one obviously omitted - but verified as correct
for the webui)

cq.dbSetDbName=CQ_CONN/usrdb
cq.userid=CQCONN

com.ibm.team.uris=https://CQCONN:XXXXX@jazztest.rchland.ibm.com:9443/jazz
cq.queryTreeRoot=Public Queries/Jazz ClearQuest Connector/Application
Development Solutions Test

Attached is a screen cap for CQ that connects to that CQ installation.
FYI the DB2 user database name is USERDB1 even tho the repository knows
it by usrdb1.

The cq.query.* properties have been commented out by prepending a #.

The name of the example is sample_schema_repo/SAMPL. Check your
cqconnector.properties file - does it have the name of your CQ user
db?

Yup. I get the welcome page. And the external repository field is
correctly set and the gateway is running. I've attached screencaps for
both. Is there some additional log file I could be checking the
Catalina.out file on the gateway side isn't showing much activity at all.

Enter that url in a browser and make sure you are able to see the
Welcome to the Jazz ClearQuest Connector Gateway page.

Also, when creating the sync rule, make sure you have the external
repository field set and the external manager field is set to
ClearQuest Manager (non-user records).
