Can RTC2 and RTC3 co-exists on the same host server?
Hi! Helpers
I have a question: Is it possible for both RTC2 and RTC3 to co-exists on the same host server ? Background: My team uses Rational Team Concert version RTC2 a lot. However, to try out the RTC-SCM to CC synch solution we also want to try RTC3 at the same time, but we don't want to do the RTC2 to RTC3 migration right on. Best Regards/ Robert (alias urkstovel) |

Hi! Helpers Hi I believe you can run RTC2 and 3 on the same physical server. The best way to keep them apart is to run them on two different physical or virtual machines. Next option is to have them on one physical or virtual machine but with different ports. You must have different ports for the RTC 2 and 3 servers. I am unsure if you can deploy the apps to the same physical app server (and you would need different databases) My only hesitation is that when you install the software with Installation Manager - it makes use of a common directory (IBMShared) as well as the "normal" directory where you find the /server subdirectory etc. I don't think the installs will overwrite files from a previous release, but I am not really sure. regards anthony |
