Is the Clearquest synchronizer included with RTC3 the same tool as Clearquest Connector with RTC2, or is it something different.

Yes, they are the same. The Connector terminology has been regularized
for 3.0.

In particular, "Connector" is the generic term for a mechanism that
associates data in two different repositories. We currently have three
kinds of connectors:
- Bridges (creates links between two objects in different repositories)
- Synchronizers (automatically transfers changes between two linked
objects in different repositories)
- Importers (a one way synchronizer, that brings data from one
repository into the other repository).

Cheers,
Geoff
