Get TestCase order within a TestSuite

Gonzalo Soto (961159) | asked Oct 29 '10, 12:25 p.m.
Hey guys, I am dealing with an Insight report issue, against RQM v2.0.0.2 and may be you can help me.

I need to sort the TestCases (TC) loaded in a TestSuite (TS). This is a critical requirement asked by the customer.

As you already know, within a TS the user could move up or down a TC, modifying the order of the TC list. Check screenshot:

I pulled the Insight RQM OOTB package and I am not able to identify this TC 'index' value anywhere.

So my question is: Is there any way to get this value in order to sort by TC index within a TS?

Research:
What I did was to get the complete xml generated when requesting a Test Suite and analyze its content.
I found out that there are 'testsuite elements' containing Test Cases with an index. Check the screenshot:

So I guess that my next steps are to play around with Framework Manager and see if I can create a lookup table or something like that?
Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Gonzalo,
The TestSuite API has changed since RQM v301 and is no more compatible with earlier version. In case you have adopted the index information as mentioned by you, You would like to take preview of what has changed in 301 here RqmApi
