Want to export a project's "permission" section

Pavithra Kasturirangan (42956056) | asked Sep 16 '10, 12:38 a.m.
Is it possible to export all the items in "Permissions" section of an RTC project configuration(Both from team and Project and team configuration areas)? I want a report of all the items along with the roles and privileges.

Regards,
Pavithra K

I'm sorry, I'm just not getting it. Where is the Project Area option ? Is this in the RTC tool ?

No problem, project area is not an option - it is an icon
I RTC Eclipse client, in the Team View you should see a folder icon

a picture is worth 1000 words, check
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/rtc/v2r0m0/topic/com.ibm.team.concert.tutorial.doc/images/process_09.png

the project area is called 'Prelude', in your case it has a different name, right click on it, look at the pop-up menu

Thank you we got that to work. It's not quite what we're looking for though.

We need specifically 3 columns of data....
Project Team, The users on the project team, and their permissions.

Example:

Project Team User Permission
------------ -------- -------------
Accounting joe b jazzUser
mary s jazzAdmin, jazzUser

Ok, so you want a report for ALL project area , where right now we have only the report for one project area and we have more data than we need
This said, if you run the export to each project area, do you get the data you need ? (not formatted I agree, but are we missing data ?)

Ok, so we will need a work item for that as a request for enhancement. I believe you opened one right ?

Yes that's right. I believe they closed it though. The ticket number is 21873-122.

This is a very good information.

Also to generate a list of users belonging to various roles at RTC level, i run repotools command.

This gives me ample information to find out whether a user is a part of the JazzUser group and what type of license is assigned to him.

Give it a try if you want this type of report even

This Runtime Report does not offer a presentation of the roles/permissions as indicated.
