Progress report summary in the plan view

When recent upgrade to 5.0.2 I have noticed that the Progresds Report shows ..for example "3/12Target Release" a a progress and it excludes items which DONT have a target release associated with it. it is a problem because there is no way to know what is the progress against TOTAL work allocated in that sprint. How do i fix/configure that ?
