[3.0 M8] Scheduled roadmap of a plan

Hi

Been reading the new and noteworthy of 3.0 M8, and see there is a Scheduled Roadmap for a plan. How do you get to this screen, it looks really useful for project managers (that looks a bit like a Gantt chart)?

thanks

Hi Anthony,

open a plan in the web UI, go to the 'Planned Items' tab. In the 'View As' combo you select 'Planned Time'. Voila, that should show the Gantt chart. It might be empty though, if you don't have any planned items in shown period.

Got it - thanks!

So if I put in dependencies between the work items, I will see the "dependency" lines too?

Yes, if you view the plan using one of the views that displays the schedule.
Note that you have to use the "Formal Project Management" process
template, to get this view.

Cheers,
Geoff

I'm trying to see how this new Formal Project Management template works as it seams very interesting especially for customers looking at PM funtionalities.
Some questions to better understand and use it:
- any plan to have time tracking and Gantt also into other (e.g. scrum) process templates ?
- any plan to see Gantt also into Eclipse interface ?
- this process template is good for "traditional" development sites (not agile). In Scrum, it is easy to have a hierarchical structure of work items, with Epics, Stories and then Tasks. And if you point to a Story, you can easily view progress of related childrens. What's the structure to use in this template ? As if I create a relationship between Plan Item and Task or Change Request and Task I do not see progression into the related plan...

Thanks
Paolo
