accessing shared resource from server on a workgroup

Mike Rolls (12631813) | asked Aug 04 '10, 4:07 a.m.
We currently have an RQM instance configured on a server in a workgroup. We would like to configure a shared Resource Location to access a share on a server in a domain.
From the command line I can access the share on the server (after entering appropriate user credentials).
However, from RQM referencing the share, when setting up a shared resource location, fails to verify. Is is possible to enter user credentials, along with the UNC path when setting up a shared resource?

No, not currently.

The UNC share needs to be accessible from the RQM server machine without the need to manually enter credentials.

If you're running RQM Server as a Windows service, it defaults to "Local System Account" but you can run it as a domain user. One solution might be to reconfigure the RQM Server to run as a domain user who has access to the share; this would eliminate the need to re-authenticate when a share is accessed.
