Can index of one server be built on some other server?

In iRAM Production currently artifact index is not working as expected. Is it possible that we transfer all data(DB and file system) of Production to our test server and then let artifact index built there. After it finishes rebuilding, we will transfer the artifact index folder from test server to production and that way might artifact search will work fine.
Please someone let us know if this is possible?

Theoretically yes. Though there are lots of i's and t's to dot. i.e.,

Ensure you are using the same DB, same level of RAM code, same assets ..... same all.

We need to remove some data which is categorized as "Confidential" from our RAM server and hand over the remaining data(file-system and DB) to some other team. How can this task be achieved? Can someone please give an idea on this.
