Does Build Forge 7.1.1.4+ work with Oracle 11G?
Our enterprise database environment is standardizing on Oracle 11G and we need to be sure that we can use not only the currently shipping version of Build Forge 7.1.1.4 but the future release of 7.1.1.5 and beyond.
Are there any issues preventing Build Forge 7.1.1.4 from working with Oracle 11G? Are there any issues preventing Build Forge 7.1.1.5+ from working with Oracle 11G? Thank you, Eric |

Build forge 7.1.1.4 doesn't supports oracle 11g. It supports version 10g of oracle.
It may support oracle 11g with version 7.1.1.5 onwards. Regards GJ |
So what needs to happen to get 7.1.1.5+ and 7.1.2+ to support Oracle 11G+? Our enterprise architecture uses this version of Oracle and stays current to pick up fixes and performance enhancements.
We need to be able to install Build Forge into our enterprise infrastructure and utilize the latest databases, keeping BF on legacy versions is not practical. |
Getting this question from my DBA. We are currently running 7.1.1.3.
Does Build Forge support the use of Oracle Compression? Thank You Tom |
Getting this question from my DBA. We are currently running 7.1.1.3. given that compression is an 11g feature, and 7.1.1.3 (nor 7.1.2.0 for that matter) support 11g yet, I'd say "no". might it work? sure. it appears that the compression bits in 11g are all server-side and as such buildforge shouldn't have any issues with it. |

Support for Oracle 11 is planned, you should be seeing it in future 7.1.2.x release, check the following work item. http://jazz.net/jazz08/web/projects/Rational%20Build%20Forge#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=18928&tab=oracle%2011g -Sean |
