Versio Mismatch
I have just installed the Beta2a and when I attempt to create a connection I get a version mismatch error:" The client is speaking version "4" and the server expects version "3".
This is a new default install; no migration, DERBY database.
Server status shows the database is connected, but admin does not allow me to modify any mail, database settings, etc.
Any assistance is appreciated.

The Eclipse client that you use needs to be from the same build as the
server. According to this message, your client is a newer version. Are
you using an M5 client?

I downlaoded both the client and server from the Beta 2 page. I would assume that the versions match.

We also see this error, with 1.0Beta2a. Initially, I could not connect to a server on my own machine, hitting the same version 3/4 mismatch. I reinstalled using the IBM installer as opposed to just the zip file, and then I could connect to my own server. However, two co-workers downloading the exact same client with the same IBM installer package had the same version mismatch problem trying to connect to my server - though one of them could connect to her own server using the same client!
Not in our case - the Beta2a release is the very first time any of us had installed it. On my machine, I tried both client and server three times, completely uninstalling and reinstalling between each attempt. The first two times I tried the client in the simple zip file with no installer, and I got the version mismatch. The third time I tried the installer client package, and it worked. My co-workers have also tried both the zip version and the installer version, and neither were able to access my server, but one could access her own server with both versions, so I think the choice of installation packaging is probably a red herring. The other co-worker has not tried installing the server.
I am having the same problem with versin mismatch between 3 and 4
I tried uninstalling and re-installing through IBM Installation manager, but had the same results.
Both Jazz server and RTC client are the latest, installed directly from the intall site.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the problem even on the same machine. I managed to finally install the client on one machine and am not touching it again :)
however I needed the client installed on a different machine and tried to connect to the same server (same version of client) and got the same version mismatch.
Just wondering if anyone is looking at this?

I've filed the following work item to track this:
Unexepected client/server version mismatch from beta2 downloads (49028)
(web)
Generally when downloading a client/server pair it should work right out of
the box. We will look into this.

Hi, for those of you who have seen this problem, please visit the bug https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/49028 and provide us with the following information:
Server Install version (an exact file name preferably):
Install Manager or zip file install:
First time server install or repeat install:
Client Install version ((an exact file name preferably)
Install Manager or zip file install:
First time client install or repeat install:
Are all these exceptions being presented at login, or are they in the server log?
Thanks for your help,
