Kilian BAO (1622) | asked Mar 12 '08, 7:22 a.m.
I try to follow "Hello Jazz - How to Write a Simple Jazz Component" to creat a component.
when I try to "Declare the Service Interface" by add a new "service" for a extension point "com.ibm.team.repository.common.component"

there is just "new->generic".... why?

The schema defining this extension-point is only present in the source
plugin, not the binary plugin. So what you are describing implies that
you have not unzipped the source downloads and added them to your target
platform. The setup instructions on the wiki walk through unzipping
both source and binaries so that it's all on the target platform:

yeah, I have visited "Getting ready for Jazz component development", and downloaded the file too, but I can't unnzip the file...because of the password, how can I get the source's password? I can't find it..
or we should buy the source?

There should not be any passwords on any of our zip files. So if you
see this it is a bug (please file a workitem for it). I downloaded and
unzipped the M5 source without seeing any password prompts, so I'm not
sure exactly what you're referring to here.

Getting prompted for a password can occur when the Windows extractor tries to unpack files that have a long file name. The issue may be that the destination location has too many characters. Try extracting to a location with a shorter path.
