Ineffecient method of displaying test results
I started up a test which uses the RQM command line adapter and closed my RQM windows. Later, I came back and wanted to look at the results of my test run so I
1) View Test Execution Records
2) Opened the filter dialog (see W5737)
3) Entered the test plan filter
4) clicked Run
5) selected the test case whose results I wanted to view by clicking on the icon labelled "Last Result" of the test case which brought up the Result History panel
6) clicked on the icon labelled "Execution Result" which opened the Execution Result panel
7) scrolled to the bottom of the Execution Result panel and displayed the output by licking on its name in the section labelled "Result Details"
This last step opened the text file so I was able to inspect it. I needed to inspect the results of 26 test scripts and, since there seems to be no keyboard accelerators available for these actions, it actually took me far longer to navigate than it did to inspect the output.
Perhaps I took a particularly long path to opening this file or perhaps we can modify our test scripts to write their results in a way that's more acccessible to RQM but the number of steps and the time it takes to display these results is very inefficient, particularly if one needs to view test results of many tests.
Any suggestions on how I could use the tool more efficiently?
Thanks,
Markus

Why not just search for "my execution records" The latest one will show
up first and eliminates quite a few of the steps you went through.
Dave,
thanks for the suggestion. It helps but it seems to me that it doesn't eliminate any steps but, rather, changes step 3. Perhaps I am wrong and am not doing it the way you've suggested?
1) View Test Execution Records
2) Open the filter dialog
3) Select my name and the names of any others whose results I need to inspect
4) click Run
5) select the test case whose results I want to view by clicking on the icon labelled "Last Result" of the test case which brings up the Result History panel
6) click on the icon labelled "Execution Result" which opens the Execution Result panel
7) scroll to the bottom of the Execution Result panel and display the output by clicking on its name in the section labelled "Result Details"
So, it appears to change the flow but doesn't reduce the number of steps. Are there, perhaps, any other optimizations I could make? This is a LOT of steps the individual testers have to take to just view the results the test has posted.
Thanks,
Markus

If your are interested in results, why not use view test case results
from the execution panel and open filter dialog and if you are only
interested in your own click the little plus sign at end and select my
records only and then run - you will get all your results and clicking
on one will take you to the actual results
