Invalid username/password with CQ Connector

Marvin Avery (11) | asked Jun 17 '10, 7:46 p.m.
We are trying to use the CQ Connector with RTC 2.0.0.2iFix2. We have an admin account on both CQ and RTC and the RTC user has a developer and a CQ Connector license (for good measure). RTC is using LDAP.

We walk through the CM Connector setup and enter which seems straightforward and then when prompted to reset the connection we see the following in the CQ Connector output.

INFO: Server startup in 17372 ms
17 Jun 2010 16:32:06,390 ERROR com.ibm.rational.interop.
level1 - CRJAZ0124I Invalid username or password.

And the web page says "The gateway is now only accepting setup and reset requests" instead of "The gateway is now accepting all requests" which is should say per the info center docs.

We have verified the account on both CQ and CC. The problem may be the user/pass in the tomcat user's file. We saw a "cqconnector" in tomcat-users and chose it, but not sure if that was appropriate.

Another issue is we cannot create a connector account in RTC as we connect to via LDAP and it's not reasonable to to the LDAP infrastructure. So we are currently using a person's admin account, but would rather use a specific connector account. How does that work with LDAP for authentication?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The invalid username or password error would occur when the CQ Connector gateway is trying to connect to the Jazz server and is using an invalid RTC user or password. You mentioned an admin account that exists in RTC and has a CQ Connector license, but it seems you specified a different account to use as the CQ Connector account in the CQ Setup wizard and this account does not exist in RTC. If your intention is to use the admin account as the connector account, then that account needs to be specified.

Whatever RTC user account you use as the CQ Connector account is no different from any other RTC user in terms of authentication.
