Sharjeel Shafiq (1151) | asked May 20 '10, 5:42 p.m.
Getting an external type information is not available error message. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:com.rational.reqpro.rpx.Application (initialization failure).

Following technote http://jazz.net/library/article/392 section Setting up a synchronization rule. step 3. There is no external type picked up. The RTC server has ReqPro client installed that can connect to remote ReqPro project. For external repository connection have specified the UNC path to the project file.

Hi,

this error typically comes up, when the synchronizer part in the Jazz Server can't connect to the external project.

I'd suggest to recheck your connection settings and the selections for the connector on the top left area of the Sync Rule.

Hi

This error normally comes up when the reqpro libraries aren't installed correctly on server. Are you using was or tomcat ?

I do have another version which is in beta which uses the rest api's ( so you need to have reqweb running), however it doesn't suffer from this kind of problem. If you're interested - drop me an email on steve.arnold@uk.ibm.com, and I will send you the beta code.
