Test Suite - Can't assoc with a test plan

I created Test plans, added Test Cases to them and can run test cases from the test plan. I can associate those runs with the test plan.

I separately created Test Suites. I didn't initially specify a Test Plan in the Test Suite Design section, but added Test Cases that are associated with the test plan.

Later I specified a Test Plan in the Test Suite Design section of the Test Suite.

When I execute the Test Suite, and select the "Associate with a Test Plan' button, the pull-down list only shows "Unassigned" as the choice.

What have I done wrong?

Okay, I clobbered the Test Cases in the Test Suite, and added them back in having first selected the Test Plan. This time you can pick the test plan.
