express-c and report viewlets
Dear all,
Firstly, apologies if this information is present elsewhere already but I have been googling and searching the forums to try and find the answer already. Whilst I appreciate that RTC Express-C edition only contains limited support for reporting, I believe it supports what are termed 'report viewlets'. I interpret this as the small viewlets accessible via the web interface. However if I try and add one of these report viewlets into the project dashboard, I receive an error message as follows (for example) "Report with ID 'workitems.MicroOpenWorkItemsByPriority' is not deployed to project area 'Systems Consultancy'. Click here to select a different project area." If these are intended to be accessible, I don't understand why this doesn't work. To resolve this I found references to deploying these from within the thick-client but this functionality doesn't seem to be present in the express-c RTC client. Any information would be appreciated. - Rob. |

Hi Rob,
It is not possible to view trend report related viewlets in the Express-C and Express editions of Rational Team Concert due to license restrictions. Please see this topic for further details: http://jazz.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9350&highlight=reports >> I believe it supports what are termed 'report viewlets'. Curious, did you get that information from this article? http://jazz.net/library/article/398#Adopting_Reports_ We need to correct any inaccuracies in our documentation. Thanks, Mike |
Hi Rob,
It looks like I was totally wrong. Trend report viewlets are available in RTC Express & Express-C editions. https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/releases/2.0.0.2iFix1 (See Reports row) >> "Report with ID 'workitems.MicroOpenWorkItemsByPriority' is not >> deployed to project area 'Systems Consultancy'. >> If these are intended to be accessible, I don't understand >> why this doesn't work. The problem is that the BIRT micro report template (*.rptdesign) representing the Dashboard trend report was not been deployed to the project area out-of-the-box. This work item tracks the problem: https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/108033 Sorry for the confusion, Mike |
