How to delete a folder from a component

Hi

I have RTC 2.0.0.1 on Windows server 2003.

Once of the developers here accidentally delivered a folder to a component. I guess RTC recognizes it as the root folder of a Eclipse project. When other team members load their repository workspace they now see a new root folder of Eclipse project under the compnent and it's causing confusion.

I am not able to delete it. I deleted the folder from my local file system as well as from RTC project Explorer view. It doesn't appear as Unresolved item in Pending Chnages view. I don't get the option to create a new patch in RTC Pending Changes view or in Change Explorer.

Can someone please help me delete the folder ?

Thank You
NP

Hi,

When you delete a folder under the source control, you must do the Check-in under the Project where that accidently created folder was. then, you should see outgoing change set, and inside of change set, your deleted folder. if you say deliver, your deleted folder will also be deleted under the source control!
I tried, it works for me!

Thanks for your response Milan. Once of the developer here found the option team->Delete from Repository in Navigator. I find the option in Project Explorer and Package Explorer as well. The folder deletion shows in Pending changes only when I do Delete from repository.

Probably I don't understand some thing in RTC but what's the purpose of Delete in Project Exploer, Navigator and Package Explorer if it doesn't show up in Pending Chnages view ? Also what's the difference between Project Explorer, Navigator and Package Explorer ? Can some one please explain ?

Thanks
NP

This problem has been reported in work item 19663. I've added a comment
there indicating you have found the current behavior confusing (I
personally agree with you :-).

Cheers,
Geoff
