Our company is considering use Rational Jazz Team Server as
bug-tracking system, and we would like see features of system
before actual use.
For this we installed of RTS under linux on our test-server and then
two problems arose
1) We cant create new project because button Save is
always disabled, even after
filling required fields

2) Our Client Access License Types is limited, therefore we
cant create necessary number of users with rights: Contributor,
Developer, Build System, ClearQuest Connector, ClearCase
Connector. Can you give license key which allow creation unlimited
number of users any Types and will be limited only by time(few months)?

For your first problem, if you are using web ui please ensure to select a process template when creating a project area.

Hi

Perhaps I can help with problem 2):

If you downloaded RTC from jazz.net - each eval version will allow you to create users of all the types you mention. The only exception is that you need to install Standard or Enterprise for the connectors to work so that user type is probably not available.

If you need to extend your eval licenses, you need to speak to your local IBM contact.

Also - if you are only using RTC as a bug tracking system - you may only need Contributor and Developer licenses, not the others.

Please note that Process Template Management is only fully available in the Standard and Enterprise Edition Our version RTC is Standard. I installed need templates, but problem was't resolved and now i see in top-panel only two links - "project templates" and "summary pannels", but i should like also see links- "issues","plans","reports". Why these links don't appear?

Hi,

have you tried to use the Web interface for your first steps?

To see the artifacts of a project you need to have a project, the user needs to have a license and the server license should not be expired. Then after connecting to the repository and the project the Team Artifacts view shows what you want.

I am not sure where you are stuck. In general what you do is:
open the server setup using e.g. firefox https://<server>:9443/jazz/setup. You follow the steps and configure the server, DB etc.
Create your admin user and give him all admin roles as well as a license e.g. developer.

Then you follow the create project link. To create the project you first deploy the templates. Then you create the project from the template.
You should check the server administration page under https://<server>:9443/jazz/admin and upload your license, if you have one, for server and users. The eval licenses that come with the installation provide enough users to begin with until they expire. If you have a restriction of users with the eval installation you proably use Derby as a database. Try DB2.

For the project created, add your user as a member and send yourself a team invitation (or copy the content).

Log into RTC Eclipse, use the invitation to connect to the repository and project.

This is how it work in general. Unsure where you got stuck and which view you are looking at.

Our version RTC is Standard. I installed need templates, but problem was't resolved and now i see in top-panel only two links - "project templates" and "summary pannels", but i should like also see links- "issues","plans","reports". Why these links don't appear?

have you tried to use the Web interface for your first steps?

Yes, i work with RTC only via WEB-interface. I configured the server, DB etc. Project also was created. For our development process we use only WEB-INTERFACE. Possibly have not enough rights of license and therefore links don't appear? Or somewhere don't enabled some options to show all links?
