is it possible to hide a one attribute filed depends on value of another Attribute in RTC 7.0.2 using javasctipt?

I have two attribute fields in Defect section let's say Condition Field which is type of String and Choice filed type Enumeration with Values show and hide. When i select show then that Condition Filed should be visible otherwise no. The default of value of Choice Filed is hide. How i can achieve this.

You can make a field read only based on another but not invisible.

Use the Read Only Attributes for Condition precondition action, and a Javascript condition that returns true when the enumeration is set to show.

yes, but it is not a offical way, you can do this by modifying the web page elements.

This is not a supported solution and would have to be redone after each update. This is ridiculous to even consider posting it.

It would be better to create an idea. However, this has come up 3 times in the past and there was never enough priority to consider it.

I don't disagree, that some controlled way of graying out, or other means based on conditions would be nice. I am not sure hiding is the best way. It would be confusing if the UI layout changed.

Hey Ralph - In the current UI scheme, fields sometimes grey out and sometimes lose the box around the outside when they're made read only, but what you propose is exactly how the "Read Only Attributes for Condition" action works.

Ralph, I eagerly await an official supported solution so that we can stop resorting to these 'ridiculous' way. 2035?

@davyd, I found it sometimes hard to spot what I was able to edit and what not. I would like it to be easier - I have no solution at the moment.

@xiaoqi this is not how it works. Unless there is an idea and that idea is agreed upon and implemented, there will be no solution. In addition, the visibility is disputable. Attributes are visible in various contexts, just making them invisible in the work item editor does not make them invisible in reports, work item queries etc. So the "requirements" are unclear and would need refinement.
