EWM 7.0.2 - Project / Team / Section / User structure which doesn't affect access, timelines, allocation, etc.

Hi,

Is there a way that I can organise team members so that each user has one Team/Section under each Project Area in a way which doesn't affect access to work items, source control components, "work environment" allocation, etc.

i.e. A user might be under Project X / Team 1 / Section A

But can still access/edit work items and components for the whole project, irrespective of the work item's category?

At the moment, if I add a user to Section A in the example above, they cannot edit work items/components which are assigned to categories "owned" by Team 1. I don't want users to be in multiple teams within a project, just so that they can edit stuff in other categories. I also don't want to add everyone at the project level.

Unfortunately no.

Team structure and permissions are hierarchical, so permissions flow down, not up. This means that if you're in Team 1 you'll have access to the stuff in Team 1 and also Section A, but if you're in Section A you only get access to Section A
