Project dashboard

Paul vB (61) | asked Dec 23 '09, 2:53 a.m.
Hi All;

I read a lot about the project dashboard, which i perceive as a dashboard with relevant viewlets you can set for all the members of the project. This of course besides the personal dashboard of the user. Unfortunately I cannot find any information on how to create a project dashboard for all the users in the project. Anyone who can help out ?

Hi
A lot of the customisation, including default dashboard content, can be
done through RTC.
For example, creating a template for what users get when they login can
easily be cutomised in the Proccess Configuration tab, Project
Configuration -> Configuration Data -> Dashboards -> (contributor).

If a user has already logged in before the dashboard template was
customised, simply hit the red cross (delete) button to the left of
"Auto-save" in the web ui and it will recreate the dashboard based on
the latest template.

Caveat: that was from an RQM 1.0 setup; not sure that that's what you're
looking for or if it's still the same with RQM 2.0.

Hi Freddy;

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunatelly we do not have Rational Team Concert, only RQM (2.0.0.1, Build I20091024_1657).

I just want to define a dashboard that is mandatory for all team members so they are informed on time. I read about the project dashboard in the IBM documentation and saw it on the permissions tab in the admin section, so I presumed that you can define it in RQM (standalone).

Hi Paul
You may not have licenses for RTC proper ie. the server, but you still
use the RTC Eclipse client to connect to and modify the RQM project
areas, because all the non-RQM specific stuff (project areas,
dashboards, WIs etc) are still Jazz citizens.

Hello,

Not sure why it's so "complicated to do in the current version", but go to the top of your dashboard to Sharing Options (3 squares and blue arrow). Click to share your dashboard. Log out of the project, and then back in, and you now have the All Dashboards option.

This needs some work...

You can get to the Project Dashboard in an easier way without sharing your Dashboard.
Add the "About Me" viewlet to your Dashboard and in this viewlet you will see the projects and teams you are a member of. Click on a Project and you will come to the Project Dashboard.
