Customized DNG Module explorer - issue when mini-dashboard is not pinned

We have customized IBM Module Explorer extension (available in jazz.net wiki) for DNG to view the module hierarchy. When user clicks on any artifact in DNG, the widget dynamically expands and highlights the corresponding module hierarchy section in the widget. This works well if the mini-dashboard is pinned. However, when the mini-dashboard is not pinned, the widget is not shown/minimized. 

Has anyone faced this problem? Any solution to this will help. Thanks in advance.

Widgets live on dashboards, and are controlled by the dashboard behaviour.

If you don't set the mini dashboard to be always open then this is the expected behaviour.
