Where can I find the data source definition

I'm using BIRT to develop some report.
But I'm totally confused about the data source and data set definition.
Where can I find the definition for them?
such as WORKITEM_QUERY_RESULTS, WORKITEM_STATES

Go to the RTC Infocenter and search on "Report" You will find this heading:

Creating and managing report templates

That ought to get you started.
