Accepting Incoming Changes into a Disconnected Component pop

We just upgraded to RTC 2.0.0.1 and are now getting the "Accepting Incoming Changes into a Disconnected Component will not load them into the local workspace. Do you want to continue?" popup.

This is annoying.

Is there a way to disable this popup from occuring? I checked the preferences, and the other Pending Changes view options, but nothing seems to be able to disable this popup.

I suppose the ultimate answer is to not have Jazz Components in your Repository Workspace that you won't be loading into your Eclipse Workspace, but that defeats the purpose of a separate Repository Workspace and Eclipse Workspace.

I too am getting this message when I use the ClearCase Synchronizer to bring in changes from a branch in CC to the Synchronized Stream in RTC. It occurs when I run a Synch Request and there are changes in the CC branch. I go to accept the incoming changes and I get the message. I get that it's saying that the Incoming Changes will be accepted but that they won't be loaded into the 'local' workspace. I have a Repository workspace defined for the synchronized stream, what 'local' workspace is being referred to here and how do I create the correct workspace to eliminate the message and to see the changes that are being accepted?

This is a requested enhancement and is targeted for 3.0. Unfortunately, your client version has no way to disable the popup.

The term "local workspace" stands for "local Eclipse workspace", and
means a set of files on your local disk. In this case, the more
accurate phrase would be "sandbox or local Eclipse workspace", where a
"sandbox" is a file area not under the root directory of your Eclipse
workspace.

So whenever you see "local workspace", think "local file area".

WRT your exact scenario, when you say "accept the incoming changes", you
are accepting them into some repository workspace. This warning message
is telling you that this repository workspace (that you are accepting
into) is not currently loaded into a file area. I'm not sure why this
is considered something worth warning about (we'll need someone from the
SCM team comment on that). The one time I know of when this does matter
is if there are merge conflicts that need to be resolved ... resolving
conflicts can only be done if the files in conflict are loaded (the SCM
system will tell you that, when you try to resolve the conflicts).

In general, you can tell when a workspace is loaded, because it will
have the string "(loaded)" after its name.

Cheers,
Geoff
