What happens at 3AM?

Sean F (1.3k232132) | asked Apr 02 '21, 12:19 p.m.

My standalone 702 server always jumps to life at 3AM and the processor starts thrashing for over an hour and the server becomes difficult to use.

I checked the schedule for DW and all the DW jobs are scheduled to run at 00.00 so it is not DW I don't think.

is there some other scheduled database activity that kicks off at 3AM and can it be changed to a different time?

Normally the DW has two sets of jobs - the core ones at the top run at midnight and the more intensive ones run at 3 from memory.

Check the schedule for the second set of jobs and see if that's it

 Hi Sean,

We're on 6.0.6.1, so not sure this applies, but we run this task nightly during the early hours (see RM Advanced Properties)..  Could it be something like that?

com.ibm.team.jfs.indexing.service.internal.CleanUpUnusedIndexesVersionsTask
