The documentation clearly states that you should be able to add snippets from the palette into a document template [1], and that there should be a section called 'snippets'.
The documentation also states that it's possible to add custom snippets to that palette section [2], but no information is given about where I actually have to save snippets in order for them to appear in the palette. The snippets section is not even visible over here.
Could anyone provide some insights on this?
Thanks, Jonas.

Hi Jonas,
You will see the snippets in Palette view of Studio in both cases:
1. When Studio is not integrated with Document Builder Place the snippets (reusable .dta files) within %rpe_home%\snippets folder. Restart Studio or click File->New->Document Template. You will find them in Palette view. Note: If you place the snippet in a folder within %rpe_home%\snippets, it will not be shown in Palette view. There is a defect created for the same. 2. When Studio is integrated with Document Builder. In Preferences -> Remote Services, set the URL (https://<server>:<port>/rpeng), User and Password. In Document Builder, upload snippet (Templates) and tag it as snippet-<name> as documented in https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS6RHZ_7.0.2/com.ibm.rational.pe.publishing.doc/topics/t_rpeng_snippet.html#connectingtothecentralmanagementcomponent You will find it in Palette view of Studio. I suggest changing the setting "Enable Palette Drawers" to "No" in Preferences->Document Design.
