What does the L3 Services menu in the DOORS Next server administration do?

I couldn't find any documentation on the L3 Services DOORS Next menu item.

It appears that it supports uploading and managing tool plugins. What sort of plugins are supported? Is there a library from which to choose? What are the best practices for administering this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Bob, the "L3 Services" menu is used by the Level 3 Support team to debug or provide corrective actions through support tools/utilities shared by the L3 engineers according to the analysis of specific case reported by the users. So there's no public library/catalog of the tools.

The options to manage such tools are those available in the UI, you can either:

  • Upload a new tool (which must be given by the IBM Level 3 Support Org.), and that tool (signed plugin) will attempt to get installed in the server.
  • Once the tool purpose is complete (Eg. extract data or fix a problem), it can be uninstalled.

Not all L3 Support tools are intended to be used with this menu, the Support engineer will specify how to use any required tools for each particular case.

NOTE: The functionality of this menu option is not intended for custom development of plugins to have them installed by this option, so any tool/plugin developed by any third-party and/or provided by any non-IBM Level 3 Support organization, is not supported.
