I think i solved my own problem. Strangely the problem only surface when i am using FireFox (3.6.3). I upgraded my IE to IE8 and the problem was resolved.

Got to the last step of TechNote TN0039. During that step for Project Area
Linking I got this error:

Failed to read matching service provider catalog resource:

Unable to load URL:
/jazz/proxy?uri=https://*-*-*-xx.xxxxxx.*.*:9443/jazz/service/com.ibm.rqm.integration.service.IIntegrationService/catalog&dojo.preventCache=1257879223724,
Status: 200

I tried this twice, erasing the keys before the second attempt.

Anyone know why?

Hi I had a similar problem using RTC 3.x, RQM 2.x, and RRC 2.x. Each product is running on its own machine with the default Tomcat AppServer and Derby DB.

The symptoms:

1. RRC could link projects to RTC and RQM
2. RTC could link projects to RQM
3. RQM could link projects to RTC
4. Attempts to link to RRC from RTC and RQM resulted in error message described by milan.krivic (rdm/discovery/RMCatalog, Status: 401).

I tried deleting and recreating the friends relationship between the 3 applications. Same results as before.

I came across this article and noticed the comment about the browser (using Firefox 3.6.16). I then flushed my browsers cache and attempted to recreate the project associations / links. This time with SUCCESS from all applications!

POTENTIAL RESOLUTION (i.e.: it worked for me): Clear / flush your browser's cache and try linking the projects. I recommend starting with the application that was exhibiting the problem. E.g. in my situation, after flushing the browser I connected to RTC and ensured I was now able to create a project association with RRC.
