How to provide multiple values to external variable in RPE?

 I am using RPE 2.0.1 and DNG 6.0.5. I have declared one external variable in RPE and based on the value provided to the external variable, report is fetching the data from the DNG. Is it possible to provide multiple values to the external variable(may be seperated by comma or colon) so that it will fetch data for both the provided values.

You could provide multiple values separated by commas and then use a JavaScript to separate them.

But it would be simpler to just use multiple external variables.
