eclipse on server for multiple users

We are moving our Rational servers into a more secure environment, and the client has requested that we find an alternative to installing eclipse on each end-users workstation.

Has anyone had success installing eclipse on a server, and then having the users run eclipse on the server, via RDP?  We could have anywhere from 2-10 users running eclipse concurrently.

Any other option, to avoid the eclipse install on the end users desktop?

Another suggestion would allow the eclipse client on the end-users workstation, but only if we could enforce TLS 1.2.  Is this possible.

We are using CLM 6.0.4, and version 6.0.4 of the client

There is info on sharing Eclipse:

but I am not sure if it would work for RTC Eclipse client install.

To enforce TLS1.2, I think you should be able to do that. Some reference here:

I followed the instructions from the first link, and implemented a shared install, where the users config is stored on their network shared drive(profile).  The user also store their work space in the same area.

No issues as of yet.

Thanks for the tip.
