I have used "external link" option to add a link in the task. When I click on the network link URL, the chrome browser is not allowing to open the link because of some security constraints and I don't want to use IE browser. Is there any option to open the link in Chrome?

As far as I am aware this is a browser limitation. It is to prevent you from accidentally open files because they could be malicious. So if the browser does not allow that and does not allow to override, there is nothing the product could do, as far as I can tell.
