DNG - Floating license session expiry

Sean F (1.3k243150) | asked Sep 17 '18, 8:17 a.m.
Does anybody know how the floating license works when users close the browser but do not logout?

How soon is the license given back to the pool?

Also I heard that 5 floating licenses can support 15 concurrent users. Is that correct and if so how does that work?

Hi Sean

A floating license can only be checked out to 1 user at a time. Hence 5 floating licenses can support 5 concurrent users.

License check-out expiry for floating licenses is set at default 1 hour.
You can find and change that setting at:
/jts/admin -> Server -> Advanced Properties -> section /property: Core Repository Component /
com.ibm.team.repository.service.internal.license.FloatingLicenseService / License checkout time
Default value is 3600 seconds, minimum is 1800 seconds
