RTC client Connect to Sametime fails

Folks, I installed Jazz server and RTC client today Jan 7, 2008 and everything seems to work fine. Then I then added the Jazz plug-ins to my existing Sametime 7.5.1 (for the first time), restarted Sametime, set it up to access the Jazz repository, and then went to the RTC client to configure IM for Sametime. I was very pleased at the ease of installation and setup so far.

In RTC client I set up the IM account per the instructions and per the dialog pictures in the jazz.net online Jazz Information Repository Help. All seemed fine. I clicked OK, Apply, and then Connect. I receive a message that says
"Could not successfully connect.... Reason: Could not connect to Sametime client. Check...." When I look at details it says

"FMBD1105jazz1199746392187 Module TCPInitiator: Could not connect to 127.0.0.1:1883"

I have tried this without my firewall running. I've tried to enable any ports related to ST or RTC. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong and how I can get this working?

Thanks,

</WS-Jeff>

Jeff,

Have you set the startBroker property to true according to the guidelines in the online help of RTC? You can use the context help in the Add IM Account dialog to access it.

Bingo! That did it. Thanks so much. Gotta set

com.ibm.collaboration.realtime.brokerbridge/startBroker=true

in

<Sametime install dir>plugin_customization.ini, e.g.

C:\Program Files\IBM\Sametime Connect\plugin_customization.ini

I just missed that.

Thanks,

I have the same error but with the startBroker=true.

Goggle Talk works fine.

Any other suggestions on what could be wrong?
