Can I know how to build Jrs report to get count of the open tickets particular monthly wise

Can I  know  the steps how to reproduce the JRS report .. To see the open  tickets for  past 6 month... Eg.. Open tickets  on November, December  so on.. 


Which is the exact history table that we need to use and which date  should we use as x axis.. Change date or last update time.
